Cost Model: Dollars per kW plus Dollars per Square Foot of Computer Floor.
By Turner, P. & Brill, K.
For many years, the data center industry has used dollars per quare foot of computer room space to benchmark the construction cost of a data center. Dear Valued Customer;

Welcome to another edition of our monthly E-Newsletter. Your single source for information associated with the wire-line & wireless communications services industries.

The current issue will focus on the economics of data center construction planning, development, and maintenance through the exploration of cost modeling and industry trend.

The first two articles propose two data construction cost models based on logical, physical as well as operational drivers. The last two articles present data center trends and how they were realized. With ever increasing demand for storage and IT capabilities, the demand for data center build, upgrade, and expansion keep growing.  The industry is looking more and more toward modularization with newer data centers built for short-term use but long term scalability.

ANS will be at the 2010 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans, October 20-22.  We hope to see you there.  For mor information, please visit http://expo.scte.org/
