ANS Advanced Network
Services Scales Wireless Tower Industry
Albany, New York
- May 4, 2007
ANS Advanced Network Services announced today the launch
of its newest venture; ANS Tower Services, a division
focused on the installation and maintenance of communication
towers, antenna systems and base sites. The new ANS
Tower Services team will effectively manage all facets
of the tower construction and antenna installation process
from initial site planning to final system turn-up.
ANS Advanced Network Services Vice President and General
Manager Paul Fettuccia said, "The consumer wireless
marketplace has been one of the highest growth sectors
in the United States economy in recent years. With our
extensive experience as a leading vendor for national
telecommunications service providers and equipment manufacturers,
our transition into this market will be seamless."
Headquartered in Albany, New York, Advanced Network
Services provides engineering, procurement, installation,
and project management services for communications companies
throughout the United States. The company specializes
in telephone central office and customer premise environments
and supports digital switching, carrier and transport
systems, timing and alarming systems, and supplemental
DC power systems. ANS also provides test and turn-up,
and 24-7 maintenance services.
ANS is experienced in all sizes of projects, from small
implementations to full central office build-outs. Their
broad base of experience, expertise and capabilities
encompass all mission-critical communications environments,
from the central office to the customer premise.
"Even as we are busy building cable-based networks,
we are keenly aware of the exponential growth happening
in the cellular industry," Fettuccia said. "ANS
has designed and installed thousands of miles of copper
and fiber optic cable infrastructure for the wired and
wireless industry sectors and we see this arena as the
next great frontier in the telecommunications industry."
According the to the Cellular Telecommunication &
Internet Association (CTIA) total US wireless revenues
were $60.5 billion for the first six months of 2006,
up 8.6% from $55.7 billion in the first half of 2005.
Industry analysts also expect this growth to accelerate
as consumer demand is driven by the introduction of
more feature-rich devices, the development of increasingly
practical applications and the deployment of next generation
networks capable of supporting advanced functionality
and more interactive content.
As the number of cell phone users, time spent on calls
and the proliferation of wireless data communications
continues to grow, cellular providers are seeking to
improve bandwidth, data, video, music and improve the
overall level of service in order to compete in an increasingly
commoditized industry.
"The customers need for access and constant coverage
drives the demand for the wireless infrastructure; tower
space, antenna coverage and system optimization. ANS
Tower Services proven project management processes will
deliver results that exceed customer expectations for
quality and cost effectiveness, and make certain that
all critical project deadlines are met," Fettuccia
concluded.
